P.L.Blake Ltd. Environmental Charter (July 2025)

Mission statement

P.L.Blake Ltd. (hereafter PLB) recognises its responsibility in mitigating against environmental harm and/or deterioration as a result of its business. As a business, we are committed to continually improve upon our practices in order to reduce our environmental impact as a key facet of our long-term strategic direction. As a small but growing business, it is important to PLB
that we incorporate sustainability into the fabric of our culture, to encourage us to continually strive towards championing the greater good.

Responsibility
The Sustainability Committee, chaired by Managing Director Katie Baker, is responsible for ensuring that environmental policies and processes are driven throughout all areas of the business, ensuring a holistic approach to sustainable success is attainable. It is acknowledged that all employees at PLB have their own due diligence in reaching our targets.

Goals
The primary objective of PLB’s sustainability agenda is to reduce our cumulative greenhouse gas emissions and, ultimately, reduce our impact on the environment. Within this objective, we have identified 4 critical strands of success:

1) Reduce the emissions related to transport and logistics,
2) Progress towards becoming paperless,
3) Increase the volume of materials being recycled,
4) Continue to support the local community.

Targets
To meet each of these key strands of success, the following targets have been identified:

1) Reduce emission intensity from 897 tCO2e per £1m revenue to 850 tCO2e by 2028,
2) Incorporate at least 1 hybrid van into the PLB fleet by 2025 to reduce the emissions related to installation, maintenance, and logistics jobs by 5%,
3) Achieve 50% paperless compliance by 2025 as a first step towards becoming paperless in the field by 2030,
4) Review the success of the new bin, implemented in May 2025, to continue to improve the recycling facilities at PLB. This is with the intention of increasing the volume of materials being recycled by 15% by 2028,
5) Hold at least 3 charitable events per annum to support the local community and environment, such as resourcing bug hotel workshops or conducting litter picks.

Beyond this list, PLB will continue to review other ways in which we can offset our emissions and reduce the volume of waste produced.
