The task:

To design, produce and install the most incredible audio / visual experience in Heathrow Terminal 5 to be an ongoing showcase space for new product launches across brands featuring within the InMotion store.  This specific execution needed to be created to launch two new Sony headphone products in a meaningful, immersive way. Centred around their ‘industry leading noise cancellation’ messaging, we were briefed to demonstrate the power of the product in overcoming the typical stress and frustration from flight associated noise.

Our journey:

With careful consideration to the customer journey, we created an experienced based on research and insight with the primary focus to solve a problem for the customer. We ensured the execution remained true to the ‘One Sony’ ambition, and is in keeping with a premium travel retail environment such as InMotion.  We created an ‘aircraft cabin’ inspired display with illuminated ‘fuselage’ framework and high level Sony branding. Two ‘business class styled’ seated experience pods directly facing the existing large digital screen with integrated directional speakers and live experience products displayed on a dedicated private consoles. A central spine wall divides the pods with flanking digital ‘windows’ creating a true in-flight experience. Two additional standing experience zones behind the seated pods and six deep dive stations mounted to the external ribs.

The experience is modular to allow for re-dig and re-install at different locations, for different brands, to deliver the maximum ROI.  We’ve absolutely loved working alongside InMotion to create something truly special for Sony that has incredible stand out and pushes traditional retail boundaries.
